Hi gang,
It’s a busy week with no childcare over here so I thought I’d share a comic from 2012, when I was 23 years old and living in Oakland, California. It was one of my first ever published comics – I sold it to The Hairpin for probably $100 or something, and thought I’d die of happiness.
I feel like so many artists are like I can’t stand looking at my old work! but I’ve never felt that way. Maybe it’s because my work hasn’t really ever been about my technical drawing skills. But I find that if I liked it then, I usually I can still appreciate it years later.
Thanks for being here,
❤️ Hal
RIP the Hairpin 😭
love this a lot. I'd be proud still too, if I made this at 23!
